BIO

At the first sound, Aisha Belle captures you with the clear and dauntingly pure timbre of her velvet voice. Right in front of your eyes, as she creates a fusion of strings and song, her artistry digs deep and floats to an ethereal resonance. “Just watching her heart spill out, as she strings together poetic lyrics, soulful melodies and luminous playing, it invokes an intense awareness of her gifting...and you must respond.” Aisha Belle has fashioned an innovative incline of folk music. Single handedly, she gracefully and brilliantly blends various layers of orchestral polyphony with harmonious melodies. The collaboration is breathtaking and refreshing.

Even before she knew what the instrument was called, Aisha Belle began playing the violin at age two. She attentively studied violin and voice, always inventing, constructing and challenging the standards of her craft. She never quite fit the mold and its effect is aspiring and emotional. As she does what comes naturally, her Celtic roots are roused and she becomes the muse.

Aisha resides in the vast prairies of Manitoba, considering herself a true prairie girl, but has traveled and lived in many places on the west coast of Canada. After 24 years of playing the violin she's gathered a plethora of experiences along the way. She's done everything from playing in symphonies, quartets, performed at the Winnipeg Concert Hall a handful of times, played with small folk trios in her home town and Victoria BC, played festival around Canada and toured the greater part of Western Canada. She was the Gold medalist of Canadian RCM examinations in 2001. She is truly the definition of a well rounded musician. She aspires for greatness, and the product conceived from her wealth of knowledge in violin and voice is truly inspiring.
